I'm trying to install the CPU fan on an Intel P4 (LGA775). Well, everything looked fine until I tried to lock the fan/heatsink over the processor. It looks like the CPU socket is too high - with about 2mm, - and the heatsink

I've a 56 kb modem and a portable with installed Windows XP. But the portable haven't an RS232 port. So how can I do to connect my modem to my portable? Thanks

A modem takes an analog signal and converts it to a digital signal, and vice versa. So a modem is an analog to digital converter. So why is it called a modem (modulator/demodulator)? Thanks

I swapped out an Ilo DVDR05ZU for an Ilo DVDR05MU. I was told by a CyberHome tech support person that the ZU and MU versions have different chip sets. The "servo" (laser mechanism) appears to be the same because the same "front end" firmware is used on both types.

I believe it is easy to use a high-end digital oscillator these days to generate a tracking pulse with a few nanoseconds delay compared to the reference pulse. However, I am thinking about the possibility to implement the task in a different way, a lower-cost way.
