Does anyone know how an LCD monitor using a 15-pins VGA cable can tell if the cable is plugged into a powered down machine and not plugged in at all? Thanks. Bob

I bought a brand new Asus V9400-X/TD/128 video card for my computer (has a SoYo 7VCA-E motherboard from 2001 with a P3 1 ghz). It's an 8x but my AGP slot is 4x, which most of the time isn't an issue. I stuck the card in its slot, made sure it was in securely, etc. and then

Packard Bell PB-WB1 Wireless mouse failure. It was working normally now it is not .. new batteries .. tried changing channels .. no joy The light on the transmitter is on. This mouse was connected with a ps2 to USB adaptor when it just stopped

I notice sometimes when I view a window containing scanned text that it is usually so faint that I cannot read the text. Yet when I print the text and/or the window containing the text, the printed result is fine and very readable.

I've just cooked the (3.3V???) voltage regulator on my motherboard. I'm trying to find a replacement for it, it's an Infinity LX83838. I was wondering if anyone here has a clue as to what exactly it is, and it's pin-outs. Since my processor, RAM, and cards all survived it going

I've noticed a problem with my PC which is starting to annoy. It feels very sluggish for certain tasks, yet seems fine for processor only tasks and benchmarks. I'm hoping it's just a simple to fix problem, maybe the harddrive.

I have a new video DL DVD which I ripped with Decrypter in 16.5 mintues on a NEC 3540. I ripped it in Full Disc mode with Shrink in 19.5 minutes. So far so good. I could not better those times with the Sony/LiteOn I returned to the store - aka "The Coaster Maker".

My PC slows down after a random period of time, due to heat. I know this because if I stick a household fan pointing in the side it doesn't do it. It is a P4 3ghz running on a Foxconn K7S5A motherboard. If anyone has an insight in to this problem, please please let me know

my PC doesn't boot any more, what can be the reason? There is a little light on my motherboard (ASUS P4P800 SE) which is green and still working, so I suppose the power supply unit (don't know the english word, sorry) works.
