looking for an internal floppy disk drive with a flash memory reader/writer
built onto it, sort of like a 2 in 1 device, there are plenty of 7 in 1
devices with firewire and usb etc on the front, but i dont have any firewire
capability on my motherboard and all of the USB headers ...

The computer i had before this one kept perfect time  this one i have now
goes slightly fast about 5 mins every 3 months
Any one know if there is a way to regulate a computers clock though  the
cmos or something?

I've got an Abit KT7A motherboard in a 1.2ghz Athlon PC, which was 'knocked
out' after
a nearby lightning strike. The motherboard still works, but the USB is
completely dead.

My hard disk (Maxtor Diamondmax Plus, 80GB, nearly two years old)
unexpectedly died this morning. At power up it doesn't spin-up, instead it
beeps/chimes a few times.

I have a 160 GB Maxtor Plus 9 IDE drive (model 6Y160P0).
The actuator arm seems to make too much noise when it is working.
Is there a tool to reduce the noise?
I don't want to partition the drive or write the MBR or anything like

Re-formated hard drive, installed fresh copy windows 2000 pro.
Connected cat5 cable from router and unable to connect to the
internet. Networking shows the LAN and it is enabled. Tried to connect
using IE and followed connection wizard setup like I have always done

SiSandra 2004 SP2 gives average to high comparison scores in all areas
except "File System Benchmark" which comes up with an average transfer rate

I have DVDs that I've burned that are read really well by high end
readers (DVD burners, and expensive DVD-ROM drives) but that seem to
read less and less realiably the closer the information is to the
outer portions of the disc when used in an inexpensive drive.  I don't
