Got a new Dell Inspiron 1525 running Vista Home Premium.  Clean Dell
build.  I've noticed if you allow it to go into sleep that it doesn't
recover: you have to power it off with a 4-second hold of the power
button.  Manually putting it into sleep and hibernate work fine.  Dell

AVG 7.5 is still taking daily updates on 6/27, two
days after the announced new final cutoff.
My own plan is to simply stop checking for updates
when there aren't any more.  It's never found a

firstly, apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.
I've been given a pair of soundsticks by a friend, but without the sub woofer.
Is there any way I can get sound out of these. Must mention - I'm not
technically minded, so having a bit of difficulty.

I'm using the free version of LogMeIn, which works great, but is a
little fuzzy. I have fast Broadband/Wifi access.. so no problem,
there, and both pcs are fast.

laptop, I'd like to use the .iso restore files downloadable from
Dell for implementing a Vista/Ubuntu dual-boot.  But there is no

I just bought a Dell Vostro 200 from the Dell Website.
Along with cheating me out of a full gig of ram, Dell also
cheated me out of the 2 extra USB slots I ordered.

What is it about Dell and the middle mouse button?
Of all the Dell machines I've seen, only one has a working
middle mouse button (Kensington on an XP), and that's
only because the software that came with the mouse

In the process of  configuring a laptop for college bound daughter.   I just
went to the school site and configured both a Inspiron 1525 and a XPS 1530.
Price / confiuration is about the same.  On either one I would be buying the
4 year accidental warranty.  I usually don't but ...

On my Dim 8300, I am supposed to have a number of USB 2.0 Ports.  My
Scanner seems to indicate that the port it is connected to is not USB
2.0.  How do I determine if the ports on my Dim 8300 are USB 2.0 and
are operating as USB 2.0?

My Inspiron 530 with a Q6600,  palut 8800GT and 4Gigs of 1Gig sticks
just will not cool off the NorthBridge. Just installed a ThermalTake

2ghz with 1 Gig of ram. I will probably max the ram out. I can't find any
Vista drivers on Dell's website. I figured Vista has all the needed drivers.
