Dimension 4700 problem24 Mar 2008 23:05 GMT4
I have a Dimension 4700 that has served me well.  On a couple of occasions,
the machine has just shut down.  The light near the on/off power button
blinks.  It won't turn back on until I turn the AC power completely off.
Then I can restart it.  It has done this about 4 times in ...
Vista SP1 wrecked Bluetooth on my dad's Inspiron 152524 Mar 2008 22:41 GMT5
Gave him as a gift for his retirement.
2Ghz CD2 Duo / 2GB with built-in Bluetooth Card
He got himself a nice little Logitech V470 mouse (one of the reasons I
got him a Bluetooth upgrade)

Dimension E521 Network Card Problem23 Mar 2008 23:38 GMT5
My Dimension E521 cannot log onto my DSL service.  I tried to change
out the network card when I see that it is somehow soldered to teh
motherboard.  I got a card from Dell but it doesnot seem to work.
Does anyone know what I need to do here?  When I go into device
How do I configure a system, then EMAIL it to a friend?23 Mar 2008 15:32 GMT2
I would have sworn that the dell configuration website used to have a link
where I could send a configuration of a system I made (complete with
promotion and/or coupons) to a friend for them to actually to the
purchasing.
Northwood or Prescott? The question has been answered...23 Mar 2008 15:32 GMT3
I got my Northwood P4 (2.8/800) today and could hardly wait to put it in the
Dimension 8300.
The difference is profound. I could already see some improvement from
replacing the Prescott with a slower Celeron (2.2/400), but the Northwood

Backup time doubled on Dell Inspiron 850022 Mar 2008 23:30 GMT35
I back up my Dell I8500 (Win XP Pro, SP2, fully up to date on patches)
every night except Saturdays.  (Why yes, I _am_ paranoid!)  Backup
software is Dantz Retrospect Express 6.5, included with a WD external
hard drive I bought.  Starting with this past Sunday's backup (09 Mar
key combo to move taskbar?22 Mar 2008 07:11 GMT5
I seem to remember having a situation where for some reason the entire START
Key and taskbar was moved to the right side of my screen.
The only way I could get it back to normal setup was using a sledgehammer in
the name of System Restore.

E 1405 questions21 Mar 2008 22:23 GMT5
Got a few questions regarding E1405 and upgrading its hard drive.
I believe my bios supports usb devices?  If I'm correct, can I make it
boot from an external usb hard drive?   Now, if all this is correct,
what is the best software to image the old drive to an external usb
Got my Latitude Back21 Mar 2008 19:11 GMT5
My Latitude D800 went in for some last minute service, prior to the
warranty expiring.
Interestingly enough, it doesn't seem that Dell/Solectron replaced the
keyboard. They cleaned it--not that it was all that dirty to start
Adding a SATA hard drive to a Dimension 825021 Mar 2008 16:22 GMT2
I have a Dimension 8250 with a 250 GB EIDE hard drive. Will be adding a
500 - 700 GB hard drive to it and was thinking I'd get a SATA drive
instead of an EIDE drive. If I do get a SATA drive, I know I'll need to
install a SATA controller card. Will the Dimension 8250 BIOS have
