Some Laptop Times31 Jan 2008 20:58 GMT5
Using all the Dell laptops I can easily borrow from people, on a CPU and RAM intensive
job, no disk activity but lots of RAM used,

Outlet Vostro Vista Flood?31 Jan 2008 08:43 GMT7
Within a few hours, the Vostro 1400 and 1500
Outlet laptops went to practically zero XP Home
choices.
They didn't sell out that fast, I'm sure.  I
XPS420 (Dell Factory Outlet) update and dilemma.31 Jan 2008 08:27 GMT8
Well, my concerns about the Outlet were somewhat justified.
Mind you, this XPS420 was classified as a "certified refurbished" on the
Dell website. I had intentionally avoided the "scratch and dent" offerings
so that I wouldn't have to deal with any major cosmetic issues.
Vista sound drivers for GX52031 Jan 2008 02:08 GMT2
With SoundMax onboard digital audio.
XP driver doesn't seem to work.  Found a site that supposedly has it but is
missing a sys file.  Link to missing sys file doesn't load.
Any hints tricks ?
E198WFP30 Jan 2008 22:07 GMT2
I was looking for reviews on dells site on the E198WFP monitor but
only found 4.  Is this monitor any good? I've seen dells 15" & 17" 4:3
monitors non-ultrasharp and they look good so hoping this monitor will
be just as good.  I'd get a standard 19" 4:3 but dells bundle doesn't
Dell Raid Questions30 Jan 2008 16:02 GMT2
I'm a software developer but when it comes to hardware I get lost in the
jargon.
I have a few dell Precision machines I got cheap at the auctions, I'm using
as cheap web servers with Win2003 and one with WinSBS 2000, I also have one
Battery Power Causes Laptop's Performance to Decline30 Jan 2008 16:00 GMT23
Hello. I've done a lot a troubleshooting on my laptop and I've learned
that my battery is causing my computer to act sluggish. Let me
elaborate a little more...It's only sluggish when it comes to typing,
scrolling, and flash animations. Music and H.264 HD video plays just
boot a Dell laptop with eSATA ExpressCard adapter?30 Jan 2008 15:08 GMT4
Has anyone here been able to boot a Dell laptop using
an eSATA ExpressCard adapter with an external SATA
hard drive?  Dell's tech support says no, at least not for
the XPS line of laptops, and SIIG says that their eSATA
question on buying a Dell30 Jan 2008 05:31 GMT7
Can anyone order (buy) a business (Vostro notebook) from Dell? If so,
what do you have to tell them? Do you have to have proof of a business?
thank you
Online or phone30 Jan 2008 02:40 GMT7
I'm in the UK, and thinking of ordering an XPS. I've been told it's much
better to phone in an order, since they'll knock something off the price, or
give you free upgrades, but when I phoned, he gave me £50 but wouldn't
accept my 10% voucher, so I didn't go through with it. Is ...
inspiron 532 SD reader30 Jan 2008 02:21 GMT2
I have the inspiron 351 desk top. For some reason it will not read any
SanDisk cards. It reads flash drives just fine.
I do remember a quick message saying something about a particular usb port
being faster or something like that.
Dell monitor stands....switching?30 Jan 2008 02:18 GMT3
I have two Dell monitors, the 1907FP and the E207WFP.  The 1907FP has a
height-adjustable stand that can pivot and tilt back and forth.  The stand
that ships with the E207WFP can only tilt back and forward a little bit.
Is it possible to use the E207WFP monitor with the stand ...
So, how do you install XP Home over Vista Business?29 Jan 2008 13:42 GMT10
Assuming you have the XP Home DVD sent from
Dell to do that; and also the XP drivers saved
from the previous replaced machine.
I assume it's easy.
Which Dell monitor?29 Jan 2008 05:38 GMT8
I'm looking at buying the 19-inch Ultrasharp 1907FP or the E198FP.
Does anyone have any experience with them? The 1907FP has USB ports
and is $195, while the E198FP is $225, but has slightly better specs
(5 m/s response time instead of 8, and 800:1 instead of 700:1). I'm
Dell Latitude D80029 Jan 2008 01:03 GMT5
