trying to make a back up copy of my dell Vista ultimate disk which i am
allowed to do, however if i try and burn it to an ordinary dvd no matter
which writer i use the disk always ends up as a coaster with the "illegal
disk" failed error, however if i burn to a RW dvd it burns ok ...

I just did a clean install of windowXP on a dell inspiron 700m, then I added
the drivers (display, modem, sound, ...) from dell's driver CD.

I am trying to copy a file on the hard disk to another folder on the same hard
disk. I get the message "Can't Copy 'filename': The Request Could No Be
Performed Because Of an I/O Error." So far it has only happened with one file.

It looks as if dollar-for-dollar you get less computer in a Latitude than
in a Vostro - e.g., less RAM, HD etc.
Or looking at it the other way, to get the same specs in a Latitude will
cost you a lot more money. So what makes a Latitude a better computer? It's

I just recently did a clean reinstall of WindowsXP from the
reinstallation CD and have managed to download all the drivers I need
from the Dell website, except for the Video Controller. When I look in

My Dell 5150 is permanently connected to the line supply and used as a
desktop replacement. The CPU is 2.66GHz but runs at the battery default of
1.594GHz.

    I replaced the stock keyboard on my 8600 laptop this weekend,
the original keyboard had lost a couple of keys. The replacement
