other than using the add remove programs?     thanks john
Any thoughts on buying a refurbished GTX-260...maybe?31 Aug 2007 23:17 GMT16
I have a Dimension 2400 bought several years ago with a Celeron 2400 and
768MB memory in it.  My computer has a Ghost in it that is driving me nuts.
I never turn off my computer.  It stays on 24 hours a day/seven days a
week.  I have a low-power LCD monitor so I even leave it on ...

Anything with the quad core processors?31 Aug 2007 05:42 GMT13
Do any of the desktops have quad core processors now? I'm really kicking
myself for not jumping on the dimension 9200 deal a couple of weeks ago.

Vostro 1500 heat30 Aug 2007 16:12 GMT11
I must say, the core 2 duo throws off a lot of heat when it's working.  The temp at the upper
left air vent is about 30 degrees F higher than the room, even with a Belkin laptop cooling
stand under it.  Your arm notices it a lot.
Only one cpu running hard at 1600MHz, the other ...
Will this really speed up bootup30 Aug 2007 09:26 GMT13
My Inspiron 2200 Windows XP Home is somewhat slow booting up. (Takes about
90 seconds; not a big deal). I've tried to limit my startup stuff (but a lot
of the items that startup are foreign to me and even a google search doesn't
always convey whether or not I should allow it to ...
Dell Inspiron 1520 or 1521?30 Aug 2007 01:10 GMT17
I'm looking for a new laptop for back-to-school and the new Dell
Inspiron 1520 series looks nice (I've also been looking at some HP's
at BestBuy but I think the Dell would be better because I can get a
longer lasting battery right away). I've read some reviews of the 1521
processor29 Aug 2007 23:28 GMT1
I'm configuring a dell vostro 1500 and was looking at the processors.
Does anyone know how much faster the intel core 2 duo t7100 @ 1.8ghz
vs the t5470 @ 1.6ghz.  Both have 2MB L2 Cache, 800mhz fsb.  Dell
wants $115 and I didn't know if I would be able to see the difference
Dell Dimension 2400 goes inert29 Aug 2007 19:25 GMT3
Just got a call from a friend with a several-year-old Dell Dimension
2400 (?).  He says that it suddenly just sits when he tries to turn it
on.  No beeps, no fan noise, nada.  He's tried plugging it into a
different outlet.  Still no joy.
Client Lease Time? LINKSYS Router29 Aug 2007 01:59 GMT11
What's the ``client lease time''?  You can set it to xxxx minutes, ``0 means one day''
It's in the section for starting and ending IP addresses that it should assign.

I'm thinking notebook, I'm thinking Vostro 1000 and as of today anyway,
it's $599. The only thing maybe I would add would be the TrueLife
screen, opinions please on the notebook and the TrueLife screen. Thanks.

I'm working on a Dell Pentium3 (800MHZ) which has run fine for the
past 3 yrs or so.  I replaced the video card at that time (3 yrs ago),
as the old one had died.
About 2 weeks ago, the video display started having problems
