I dropped a P4 670 chip in to my Dell that had a 630 in it..
The fan speed at start up now sounds like a jet taking off.
Does anyone one know if there is a Dell upgrade heat sink and fan for
670 chip?

I can not remember if the red light comes on when the power adapter
is plugged in to the wall only or if it has to be connect to the
both wall and battery for the light to come on?
Which is it?

When the PA-10 power adapter is operating I hear static on the

Can anyone tell me if this card would improve my graphics performance
significantly or would it hardly be worth bothering with? I presently
have onboard 82865G Graphics controller in an Optiplex G270 but have
seen some ATI Radeon 7500 64Mb Low Profile Graphics Cards going cheap.

My son plays guitar. He is trying to use an audio mixing/recording
program called Cakewalk on an E510 with integrated sound (Sigma Tel).
It has 2.1 speakers. It won't work, and the Cakewalk forums are full
of users with the same problem with Sigma Tel on board audio.

Want to upgrade an Inspiron 8000 with a new hard drive.  Is there any
reason a Hitachi 2.5" ATA 100 drive that runs at 7200rpm would not
work?  Have the latest BIOS installed.

I've got a Dell 4600 and I am thinking about upgrading to a E521.  The
E521 uses SATA hard drives. Is there anyway that I could use one of my
older IDE (ATA-133) hard drives in the E521?  Or would I have to use
them as external HDs.  Can you install a IDE add on controller card?

I've just taken delivery of an Optiplex 320 3Ghz Celeron D PC from Dell
Outlet (it was very cheap and is mainly for web browsing etc so fits the

However the fan noise from it is many times louder than any other Dell
