Remap fn key to an external keyboard16 Jun 2007 04:08 GMT1
I have an Inspiron 8600 which I just purchased an external display and
D/Port replicator for. Firstly I can say that i should have purchased the
external monitor years ago as difference using the 20" vs. 15" is amazing. I
was wondering if there is anyway to emulate the fn key ...
Laptop Video Card Question16 Jun 2007 02:30 GMT7
Not specific to Dell.  Have a lot of experience with desktop computers, and
am quite comfortable adding and changing hardware in them. How much more
difficult is it to change and or upgrade video and memory in a laptop?

Intel CPUs15 Jun 2007 23:38 GMT5
Is there a web site that explains in simple English the differences
between the Intel E4300, E4400, E6320, and E6420?  Dell's "Help Me
Choose" is, of course, useless.  Thanks!
Upgrade video or processor?15 Jun 2007 23:25 GMT5
Need to add $50 to my E520 purchase to get the $350 discount. Choices:
Upgrade processor from E6320 to E6420.
Upgrade video card from Geforce 7300LE to ATI Radeon X1300 Pro.
Which would you recommend?
Dropped my Laptop15 Jun 2007 21:50 GMT2
About a week ago, I dropped my 640m (1405) laptop a few feet from a
low table to a carpeted floor.
When I checked it out, there was something rattling inside.  The
laptop still worked just fine though.

Misc questions about student notebook15 Jun 2007 02:38 GMT3
About to pull the trigger on a college notebook for my daughter. She has
been using my Inspiron 9300 a little at home and likes the 17" WUXGA screen.

Which Desktop?14 Jun 2007 20:45 GMT2
If I were going to spring for an actual desktop, which one is likely
to be longest lasting?   (Matching the longevity of my current
win95 machine, now running 24/7 continuously since 1996, would be nice.)
It needs 4gb of RAM.  No gaming in particular, I'm more of a text
4:3 vs. 16:9 LCD's14 Jun 2007 15:12 GMT3
I'm looking to get a new system and need to decide on the LCD. I
currently have the 20 inch 2001FP from a few years ago. Because of my
vision problems, I run this at 800x600 (since it's half the native
resolution there is no deteriation). I've always used a 4:3 computer
Buy Dimension now?14 Jun 2007 04:06 GMT9
I have a 4-year-old Dimension 4600, getting a bit long in the tooth
but still works ok. With the $350 discount, can pick up a Dimension
E520 for $650. Possibly too good a deal to pass up. Or maybe these
kinda deals are regularly available?
