I'm hoping someone will see this and set my mind at ease.

How long until a system ships?22 Jun 2007 21:57 GMT6
I placed an order for a E520 system on Tuesday and the estimated ship
date was yesterday. Dell's site is still showing the system as being
"in production". I haven't received any tracking numbers yet via e-
mail either. About how long is it taking Dell to ship current systems
total memory for dimension 240022 Jun 2007 14:12 GMT6
dell says 1G total.
Crucial memory says 2 G total.

System close to failure?22 Jun 2007 13:26 GMT6
My 4-year-old Dimension 4600 is periodically shutting itself off (not
rebooting, it's completely powering off).  It then starts up ok, and
runs with no apparent problems.  I've vacuumed it out and checked the
fan, seems to be running normally.  Just wondering if it's getting

blank for no apparent reason and doesn't come back on without turning
off cold and back on again.

Wal-Mart and Dell Ink21 Jun 2007 18:41 GMT6
Now that China Mart is selling Dell computers will they also sell
Dell ink?  I've been to two stores so far and have not seen Dell ink.
Google sidebar21 Jun 2007 07:49 GMT2
Does the Google sidebar (which came installed on my new Vista-running
pc) have any particular advantages over the regular Vista Windows
sidebar? I realize that it can be easily switched.
ArcSoft Photo Suite 2.1 causes my DVD burner drive to disappear?21 Jun 2007 05:38 GMT1
Ok, so I'm loading up my software on the new E520 system. Some programs have
some compatibility issues which I will need to work out, but ArcSoft Photo
Suite 2.1 seemed to install fine...and then I re-booted the PC only to have
me "E" drive...the CD/DVD burner...completely disappear ...
Very Hot Power Cord to Laptop21 Jun 2007 03:05 GMT9
Ok, I got a Dell laptop at Christmas time (Christmas 2006.)
It has a cord that plugs into the wall socket.  The cord runs from
the wall socket to the back of the PC (of course.)  About half way on
the cord is some type of plastic box/power pack or something.
ReadyBoost - do I really have 5.5GB RAM?21 Jun 2007 02:59 GMT2
On this near-new (but already obsolete) e1405 with 2GB RAM,
"ReadyBoost" is installed, or available.
I did services.msc, activated ReadyBoost, and inserted a 4GB
fast thumb drive with about 400MB in stored files.
Is "Latitude" inherently better than "Inspiron"?21 Jun 2007 02:55 GMT13
Given two laptops with similar specs, but one is labeled
"Latitude" and the other "Inspiron". The price differential
suggests that "Latitude" is a better product.
Is it?
Connecting an old Parallel Port laser printer to a new Dimension E52021 Jun 2007 01:13 GMT8
Got my new Dell E520 system today and want to hook up my old trusty
workhorse laser to it...an HP Laserjet 4P (vintage 1994 or so). Gack...no
parallel port on the back. For former tech wizards and now dummies, what's
the best way to do it?
ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro21 Jun 2007 00:44 GMT5
When I bought my Dell 4550 I "upgraded" after I received it to an ATI
All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro video card.  I bought the card from Dell.  I
was reviewing the specs on the board this morning and see that it has
only 64MB of DDR memory.  Isn't that pretty low for today's
