I have dell laptop---inspiron B120. My laptop has been acting strange
lately, when i am working on it for more than 2hours and then i want to
turn off my laptop(windows operating system) from menu start, it stays
on. I cannot turn it off.

Dimension 4600-winxp home. What I want to do is remove the internal HDD and
use a usb 2.0  HDD. When I when I unplug the usb HDD the comp. is left
basicilly useless with NO info that a theif or any one else would ever have
acccess to. Can I use my use my xp restore disk and ...

This is awful!
Our computer has been acting strange lately and system restore has
helped but not fixed the problems.....So we used our Trueimage backup
disk. Thinking a full backup would be great in case of disaster.

does anyone know how to either
a.  load Windows XP onto this computer or
b.  contect to a domain with this computer
the regular stuff is not working.

How much faster is the battery drained on a core-duo processor vs the
pentium m ?
How about the effect a 128mb graphics card over the integrated graphics

I'm getting ready to upgrade my Dell 4600 / 2.66 GHz machine from 512 meg to
something more reasonable (probably 2.5 Gig). In shopping for PC2700 memory,
I'm astounded at the price differences - from ~$36 per stick to over $100.

I am buying 3 new Inspiron laptops. One is coming with XP Pro already
installed. The other two only have XP Home (to save cost) as I have two
original full copies of XP Pro SP2 which will become free when the old
laptops are replaced.

Does anyone know if the MOBO from a Dimension 4600 will fit in a standard
ATX case?  Dell says no, but they are often wrong.
