Thinking of getting an Insp 6000 with the dedicated vid card. , Pentium M

laptop (not Centrino) and it is extremely noisy when the fan ...

In a previous posting, 'Bob" reported, "I've got a Dim. 4100 that

Monitor/Digital Pix/Graphics30 Apr 2005 16:00 GMT3
Well, it looks like it's time to retire my 5 year old (CRT) P991 Trinitron.
It's been a good monitor.  Outside of web surfing and email, my primary
computer usage is for digital photos.  I'm not a professional photographer.
As far as I know, (affordable) LCDs are still not up to par ...

How find system setup?30 Apr 2005 14:42 GMT2
I have inherited an old Dell Latitude 300XT. I want to enter the cmos setup
to change it so it will boot from  a CD. I tap F1 at bootup and nothing
happens. I think what I am trying to do is what Dell docs call "entering
system setup" but I can't figure out how to do it. This ...
Upgraded My Video Card In My I860030 Apr 2005 05:31 GMT1
From a 32 meg Geforce 5200 FX to a 64 meg version. What is the average temp
of these? Before I took out the 32 meg board it was registering 51 C. It had
just started running when I monitored it. The 64 meg card was going at about
57 to 60 C. after about 20 minutes of setting idle ...

Dell 5150 issue29 Apr 2005 12:04 GMT2
WE bought (6) 5150 in one shot.  Within the last 2 weeks, about 2 months
after they surpassed their 1 yr warranty, 2 of them decided that if you move
them, they will reboot/crash.  If you do not touch the machine they are
fine, but if  for instance they have a keyboard, mouse and ...

Monitor is "Breathing" & Won't Stay On 29 Apr 2005 11:00 GMT5
I have a 5 year old Dell flat screen Trinitron 19" monitor.  For quite some
time now, it's been "breathing".  Until the monitor warms up, the picture on
the screen will appear to be "breathing"...expanding and contracting like
one's stomach does when you breath :).  I've changed ...
Need 8400 floppy kit29 Apr 2005 09:54 GMT9
Does anyone out there have a Dimension 8400 and not want the floppy drive?
I have an 8400 with no floppy, yet I still find myself needing one from time
to time.  If anyone wants to trade, I will give my solid floppy drive cover
and $20 cash for your floppy drive w/mounting ...

I've got a Dim. 4100 that seems to be failing (start-up button needs more than
one or two tries to get going).  Is there some way to still use the old original
hard drive as a second drive in a new model Dell or is everything SATA these
days?  I don't know anything about this, but ...
Replacing the CPU Fan28 Apr 2005 22:29 GMT5
Well I had a real good time replacing the power supply in my Dimension 4500,
molex connectors notwithstanding. And my computer is quieter. So now I'm
thinking of replacing the CPU fan assembly.
From earlier threads I know that I may as well get the proprietary fan from
