I am working on a neighbors 1150 that shows plug and play as the installed driver for the LCD screen. I've looked all over the Dell site for a monitor driver, but was unable to find one. Therefore, is the Windows native driver the proper one for this unit?

My original Dimension 8200 was configured with an 80 Gig HD and 512 Meg RDRAM running Windows XP Home. I recently added a 250 Gig Western Digital Harddrive partitioned into two equal sections. The new harddrive is recognized by Windows and the BIOS.

Can XP pro, that is coming on my new 2400, be used for other computers in my house or does each one require a separate version. I am thinking that my new computer will not come with the XP pro on a cd but rather on the hard drive.

My 40GB drive in the Inspiron 8100 finally turned up it's toes so I replaced it with an 80GB Hitachi Travelstar. I couldn't see any options to register this change with the BIOS but XP Setup correctly recognised the capacity and (apparently)

Running winxp on several desktops and laptop. All is fine for now but I'm wondering why the desktops can be autoconfigured for tcpip but the laptop can not. I've tried but no avail. As soon as I assign it a unique IP then it works fine with the network.
