I have a Dell 8250 3ghz with a Western Digital 30gb hard drive (WD300BB).  I
was looking to upgrade my hard drive.  Could any of you point me in the
right direction was to what my options are?  Anything new on the mark?

I reinstalled Windows XP Pro on a new Dimension 2400.  After installing
all drivers, there seems to be one still missing.  Under Device Manager,
there appears an unknown "PCI Input Device".  I can't seem to find any
appropriate driver for this.  Any ideas?

i recently got an external 2-1/2 hdd (toshiba mk8025gas) i´d like to
connect to my dell "m60 precision" notebook via the usb port.
if i put the hd in a usb1.0 casing, no problem; the bus seems to
deliver enough power for the hd to work without an external power

I just got me brand new 8300 p4 with hyper threading !
soes it make much difference if i turn hyper threading on ?
and will i even notice a diffrence or will it seem the same ?

Has anyone been able to boot from a USB hard drive?  Can you please describe
your setup (if yes)?
I get a blue screen when using F12 key in order to boot from a copy of
Windows XP located on the USB hard drive.

Got a second hand Dell OptiPlex Gn+ from my company.  It has 64K
RAM.  I bought two 128 memory chips from eBay so I am ready to try to max
out its memory to 256.

My daughter has totally screwed up her computer with Gazza (spelling?),
Morpheus, etc and I am going to format her hard drive and rebuild her
system.  The computer is has an AMD 1 gig processor and I suppose a Pentium
3 maybe 4.  It is about 3 years old.  It is not a Dell - some ...

I was wondering if someone could help me understand and figure out
which SCSI connector to use on the back of my Dell PowerEdge 2600.
It has 1 larger one, that's part of the back panel (same general area
as the keyboard and mouse connectors).  It's about 4.5mm wide.

My question is two fold.
Is it ok to mount a new 30 gb Maxtor slave drive with the curcut board up in
my Dell?

I have a very sick Inspiron 5000e (out of warranty) which won't start,
and wonder if anyone has any idea if there could be anything simple I
could try to get it going.

The specs on that look pretty awesome. The main thing that concerns me
is how they plan to handle the heat buildup of a 3.4GHZ P4 inside a
laptop.
Other than that their new graphics card upgrade policy sounds pretty

I thinking about exhanging the P4 1. GHz i my dimension for a celeron
2.6 GHz, which can by found very cheap.
I'm expecting some performance gain, even if the cache is smaller

When I right click on a file, and get my options menu up, if I just
hilight the send to option, I don't get the sub menu, instead I get the
screen blanked except for the wallpaper, and then the screen redraws ...
