I have a number of Compaq Deskpro 686P2, 686P3 and Evo D500, 510
series (686O2) systems. All of these seem to be pretty closely

One of the donated computer I have on my work bench a HP XE783, the
donator removed the hard drive and the hard drive holder/carrier.
If you have an older HP in your parts bin I would like to aqquire the
hard drive holder/carrier part, so I can complete the repair of this

Hello again.  With the RAM replaced, and tests checking out, the
Compaq is working fine and I'm sure noticeably smoother.  I just
wanted, though, to check something about the RAM I was sent.  It says
SFRAM - usually it's SDRAM isn't it?  Is this okay?  The chip is about

I recently bought some eBay RAM from someone with a good rep there,
100%.  I've had the chip in for about 10 days and I thought everything
was fine.  It seems to show up, i.e from when I first put it in and
the BIOS amended itself.  And it shows up as having gone from 256 mb
replacement board for 5700N02 Dec 2008 22:12 GMT1
I recently wrote looking for a replacement board for a Desktop
Presario 5700N.  Here's more details.  The Compaq replacement # is
1206595-102 which looks compatible with just about every   5700-series

When trying to start it, on battery or AC, the blue power on light o
the button blinks on and off as does the whirring sound of the fan
Sometimes it does start and eventually freezes up or shuts itself off
