software.  I've installed a hard drive but can't get the computer to
boot up into the win xp setup.  It will take windows 98, but not XP.
It copies all the files then freeezes on the screen "Setup is starting

that needs replacement due to increasing bad sectors.  Is there a

I'm replacing the hard drive in my Presario SR1011NX.  Should I set the size
of the D drive at the same size as the D drive in the original hard drive or
should I make it as the same percentage size.  I'm replacing a 40G with a

it's clearly a Compaq firmware issue, and to c.o.l.h because the
firmware might
as well be hardware, since I don't (yet) know how to change it.

I have a Compaq Presario 6410NX. I just got a new ProView 19"
Monitor for it that requires me to set the resolution to 1440 x 900.
The video card in the computer doesn't offer that setting. Is there a
