Hi I have a Compaq Presario 1600 which is locked on region 1 however most of
my dvds are region 2. I have tried DVD Genie but I still cannot change it to
region 1. Drive info says it is loked on region 1 and there are no changes
left.

Whenever I turn on my computer, I can here the hard drive running but
the LCD stays black.  I ordered a new hard drive because I wanted
more space anyway and thought it might help the problem.  It didn't.

and minus systems and one won't play on the other format. How does this work
with DVD-Rs? I don't want to copy footage onto a DVD-R and then find that

windows xp pro on it. Everything works fine except the disk drives don't
