This is my problem:
1. DC power jack broken (this one is pretty explanatory).
2. LCD screen is dark
Even at the maximum brightness and contrast the LCD screen is darker

I have a 2175us and the power connector is loose from the motherboard.  I
have been told by a few repair places that it would be cheaper to buy a new
computer. Please help.

I have a Compaq 5330us desktop and the onboard graphics card is going bad.
I also want to add a DVD Recorder.  As this computer is about 4 years old,
is it worth getting a different graphics card and recorder or just buying a
new computer?

Also, Does the 1610 have a hidden bios routine partition?
And why did Compaq turn out such hassle filled laptops?
And why does compaq fill it's laptops with garbage software?

Hi, I've a Compaq P4 1.7Ghz with the Spider-S motherboard. I run WinXP
pro. Recently, I bought a new graphics card, a HIS ATI Radeon 9550
(AGP). Problem is that it's impossible to have it installed. Windows

OKay I have 2 compaq computers: Presario ???? and Deskpro 6000.  I want
to put linux on them but they won't boot to CD.  So I try to get into
bios... but it is some crappy bios that compaq made so I don't know how
to change the boot sequence.

If I replace my hard disk, can I simply use the restore CD's kit to
reinstall everything or do I need to pass trhough a special process
because of a tatooed disk or anything else?

I cannot enter the BIOS setup holding down the F10 key. ???

i have a presario 1245 it boots intermittantly and wont recognize hd or cd.
both spin up but fdisk wont locate and cant boot from linux cd either. i
suspect bios error on ide . any ideas
