The CD-Rom on my sons compaq w/XP home stopped working.
He recently decided to get DSL only to discover that the CD does not
work so he can't use the disk from Qwest.  We tried several things last
night but I discovered so many problems that we did a system restore.

I have a 5000 Model # 5301RSH
I found the system whos user was dumping it saying it
had a virus.
When I tryed to boot all I would get is the CAMPAQ logo.

I want to replace my Compaq monitor for my computer with a new LCD one.
Mainly because my monitor keeps flashing a pink screen and I
understand that it's because it's going bad.  I checked the connections
and they're fine.

it works fine with a charged battery , but my battery is dead and the
ac adaptor doesnt charge it or power up the laptop,with or without
the battery., can someone give me some advice , could it only be that
i need a new battery,is the laptop suppose to work with the ac adaptor

All of a sudden my CV735 monitor has a bright pink screen and then it
will change back to normal.  Any idea what could cause this? The
display is visible--just harder to view in bright pink and blue.  It

battery alone then there is no drive activity but the caps, num and
scroll lock lights all flash. If I start it on AC then the capslock,
