I am trying to help my daugther's nanny by upgrading her Presario to
something better. I need to find out more details about the
motherboard configuration but cannot find it anywhere, and compaq's
website does not list that info.

I have this laptop with this card and if I try to download files of any
size, it resets the card at the same exact point everytime time.  This
only happens under WindowsXP, it's find under Windows 2000 and Linux.
Has anybody else seen this behavior?

Does someone know why the file CPQDFWAG.exe is started automatically?
It takes 48Mb on my notebook.

I have tried a number of memory sticks in my Presario 4540 and the only one
that works is the original Compaq memory supplied with it. But who can live
with 32mb? Help! Does only Compaq memory work in this thing?

A friends PC has got trashed and I am unable to install windows again.
before I use the Restore CD I need to backup their data.
Tried Laplink in DOS but this will not work.
Compaq support suggested that I install another HD with an O/S on it

I have question what is maxium size od the HDD for Comapq Armada 1520
with the latest BIOS update from the year 1999. Does it fit any standard
HDD drive or do i need to look for some special ones?

Been offered a Presario 1260. Was wondering if it's possible to get the
system to use more than 160MB - I know the limit is quoted everywhere
on Compaq materials, but was wondering if it's an issue with
official support, BIOS reporting (which you can force some OSs to ignore),

I have 2 identical Armada laptops that I have used for the last 3 or 4
years.  One of them now fails to boot.  Just as Windows is starting it
displays a blue screen with the message that the bios is not ACPI
compliant.

I need more memory in my s5000nx, but it calls for PC2100 memory. Can I use
PC anything else, like PC2700 or 3200.
