i'm have a presario 1277 and they have only 1 usb port, i'm using
an usb hub but when i' connect the usb webcam the calbe modem and the
external recorder stop working. Does some body what could happend?.

Anyone got the 1235 (or something close) internal dial up modem to
work/install on winxp. Winxp installation calls it a 56K-DF but driver
error codes with a 10. Tried lots of different drivers from
driverguide.com but no banana :-(. Anyone got any ideas? TIA

How does compaq justify Wild Tangent/ aka Spyware (among others) in their
products? Just wondering. Because this is just one reason I would not own
one. Or anything other hp product.

I have a Compaq keyboard with the split space bar. By default the left half
is a "Backspace" key, which doesn't work for me. It seems to me there is a
way to make both halves work as a space bar, but I can't find any
documentation on that. My searches of the Compaq/HP web site ...

Now that HP has taken over Compaq, their "help desk" is laughable.

I'm working on an older Compaq Presario. I think the model is CM0204,
since this is the only number found on the machine (on the back).

A week or so ago my Presario Model 7478's hard drive began to fail. I had
gotten a message that the disc detected that failure was imminent, and I
bought a new hard drive. The new drive is a Seagate 80gb drive, whereas the
factory installed drive was a 30gb Maxtor.
