A guy at work has a Compaq Presario (possibly a 2247) and he's looking to
upgrade the memory. Will a standard single side 128mb SDRAM do the job or
does this use special memory?

Well I discovered what the problem was, at least I think I did.
I had uninstalled WinDVD and decided just to use Windows Media Player to
watch DVD's.  Since it's only a notebook and I don't have 5.1 or 6.1
speakers connected to it why bother with paying 50 or 60 dollars for high
