(But the question is more about how to find out than which ones)

Seems i have to buy a buy a new laptop.  i would like to use it with my
old installation.
(1) Will Microsoft let me?
(2) Is it easy, technically (I am mostly concerned if it will boot )

Laptop is dead, shop says its not around where the plug connects, but
on the motherboard, and that it would be to expensive to fix.
Though I think I was able to supply it from the battery after I

i have been to the acer site & downloaded all the drivers,

About the same price. And in some cases the Pentium M is a bit less with
roughly the same hardware. Will be using it for CAD applications and some
gaming and photo editing. I'm looking at the Acer Aspire 5672WLMi (1.66GHz
Duo) or the Acer Travelmate 8104 (Pentium M 2GHz.) Of course ...
