I just got a new Acer Aspire2000 notebook (and I love it) and was hoping to
connect it up to my existing home network via my router Linksys BEFW11S4 (no
version, the original one - version 1).  Is it possible that the router is
too old to recognize the newer centrino Intel Pro ...

Any one had any problems with the internal modem on a Acer 1310
laptop?  I've got a Aspire 1315LM which is just a 1310 but with a
built in DVDR writer.  Every few times when I connect to the internet
upon disconnecting the internet the whole computer just hangs.
