I am having a rather serious networking problem that I hope someone can help
me with.
I have a small network, consisting of an ADSL router with a 100mbit hub, a
Gigabit switch, one machine with a 100mbit NIC and two machines with gigabit

I have the following hardware:
1 HP Vectra VL (500 MHz) Win98se and 3Com Ethernet card and drivers
installed.
1 25 ft. crossover Cat 5 cable.

I have two Dell computers running XP on a wireless network, using a
dlink wireless g router.
I have an internet connection on both comnputers via the router, but I
cannot map netwrok drives or share printers.

I have two problems with this wireless router bland new.
1. Connection drops after say 5-50 minutes which can only be
re-established by resetting the router

One can test a PC with a network adapter by pinging 127.0.0.0.
What if a PC has more than one network adapter? How to test them?
I got an error message when issuing the command "ping 127.0.0.0 on
a PC that has two network adapters.
