Bonjour, We can encapsulated a MAC frame within a 8B/10B encoding stream. This MAC frame has always a preamble and the SDF byte (followed by data, PAD if needed and FCS).

My system has two computers hooked to a Netgear RP114 router to cable broadband. One machine is 192.168.0.2, the other has always been 192.168.0.4 and it still is. 0.3 was used a year or so ago on a notebook long gone.

I'm trying to cascade two ethernet 100 switches that is approximate 700 to 1000 feet apart with a RJ-45 plenum cable. Can I put repeater between the mid-point to boost that signal? More than one if necessary and what is the distance that a repeater will boost?
