When I had a single modem I used to be able to turn it off like for 20 seconds and turn it back on again, and then press "connect" on the Verizon icon in "Network Connections" and get a new IP number. Now I have a router and things are different. Turning it off and back on

At random times, but less often at night, my ADSL modem loses its connection with the CO. It can be running fine for 4 hours, then quit, or quit every 15 minutes at other times. Totally unpredictable. It takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 10+ minutes to re-sync. Thirty minutes was ...
