We've just got our first DSL service here in the USA with Windstream.
We're using a ActionTec modem (GT704-wg) and Windstream (used to be
Alltel) tells us that the line has been DSL-enabled for a week now, but
the DSL light on the modem keeps flashing.
Is Verizon increasing their base rates for DSL but deciding to call the increaes a surcharge?29 Aug 2006 19:51 GMT3
According to Verizon, the FUSF fee is being eliminated, since their supplier
is no longer charging it.  However Verizon is taking this opportunity to
impose a "Supplier Surcharge".    Is this new "surcharge" really anything
other than just an increase of their base rates that ...

Trouble Reaching Web Sites22 Aug 2006 15:44 GMT3
I am having considerable trouble reaching some web sites. A good
example is www.pcworld.com. I usually cannot get it to display. My
browser, Firefox, says it is "Waiting for images.pcworld.com" or
"Looking up ad.doubleclick.net". Internet Explorer does much the same,
Hands off DSL modem21 Aug 2006 23:50 GMT11
Has anybody installed and used an ADSL modem that didn't need to be
power cycled every 1-3 months? I'm curious here, because it struck me
that one of the modems I administer hasn't been power cycled since
October 2005. That's almost a year. They are humming away, with over 15

I currently having a working DSL setup with Verizon using a Zoom x6 modem.
The business this is for is changing their plan with Verizon such that, rather
than having a single dynamic IP address, we'll be getting 5 static IP
addresses.
DSL Router Splitter question20 Aug 2006 20:32 GMT5
Hi all, just a quick question. We are using Yahoo/SBC DSL and we
already setup a DSL router without any problem. However, in the house,
we have a downstair family room which we wired just ONE network cable

Losing connection (Computer->Wireless->Router->DSLmodem)17 Aug 2006 06:00 GMT16
Hi, I did some searches and there are lots of people having connection

desktop with an AirLink wireless card.  They both connect to a Linksys

I have three computers at home -- two notebook and one old computer, which I

Notebooks have wireless cards and server-to-be is directly linked to
Westell Versalink 327W which is then connected to the Verizon Online ...
DSL modems - leaving them on all the time07 Aug 2006 20:16 GMT19
Most people leave their DSL/cable modems on all the time.  I've noticed
