DSL SBC Home Connection Interrupted by calls19 Dec 2005 10:40 GMT2
We've had DSL home service for over a year.  Provider is SBC.  We have
the 2Wire Home portal.  My only complaint is that when we get an
incoming call, the signal gets interrupted for about 2 mins.   One of
the lights on the 2Wire Device changes from green to blinking yellow.
SBC - do I need a tech install to get a splitter?17 Dec 2005 21:52 GMT10
I'm planning to order SBC/Yahoo DSL.  Since I have a monitored alarm
system, I figure I'll probably need a splitter.  SBC wants $200 for
a tech install if I have an alarm system.  I'm capable of doing
wiring and installing most types of equipment myself, so I'm
Checking DSL line - how?17 Dec 2005 21:52 GMT3

some stupid DSL provider's software, I find out there's no

recommend someone who is particularly good to work with?

I have a Zoom ADSL X5, Verizon as my local phone company, and I'm
trying to get connected to Infinity Internet DSL.  IINET technical
support says they've successfully done a line check to my house
(although it's not clear how that's done -- time domain reflectometer?)
Link initialisation14 Dec 2005 08:07 GMT2
I have a simple question: who initialise link at startup, subscriber's
modem or provider's modem?

Looking for DSL provider in McKinney TX14 Dec 2005 00:48 GMT4
I am looking for a DSL provider in McKinney Texas.  I've checked
dslreports.com, but the search for providers for my area code &
prefix brings up a list of 363 ISPs, the 1st 6 being "No Name
Stored".  Obviously, this is not a very useful function.  Is there

Has anybody else tried setting up their own ADSL2+ Router as opposed to
the BEThere ADSL Router? The reason I ask is I've set up a Draytek 2800
Router which is ADSL2+ however I only get the following:
ADSL Status Mode     State         Up Speed Down Speed SNR Margin Loop.
