Well, I installed a whole-house splitter, thinking that my problem was with the dongle-type splitter that my ISP provided with DSL modem; but using the phone on the same line that the modem is on still terminates the DSL connection.

Just called Qwest to order DSL on AUG 30 2:50. I was told that I can't have DSL service in my area because all lines have already been leased. So, no DSL for anyone in my area, but just recently our friends ordered DSL and they just live a few miles away.

Anyone using docsis_server to provision their cable modems? I am having problems with the DHCP server part. Anything is working fine, but it seems DHCP is not listening on port 67 like it should. If i can't get this to work anyone know of a good dhcp server backended by a MySQL DB?

I've always been confused about why Yahoo Mail is different between DSL and dialup. The login screen is slightly different and I've always had problems going from this screen to my own account when I use my friend's computer (she has DSL). Why are the two things different?

I have my own Linksys router for a home network, and got DSL service with Earthlink. Per default settings, the router is configured with DHCP, IP assigned by server, not static. The Earthlink setup information I got is intended for one computer only, not connection through a router ...
