I hope I'm posting to the right newsgroup. Can someone explain exactly what "xdsl" is? I've been using Verizon DSL for about four months now. Been very happy with it. Last month I was switched from 4.xxx ...... to 71.xxx ...... IP range.

All, I've recently had to move in with some family on a temporary basis. They have DSL thru SBC and use an eMac. I have brought my XP Pro machine over, along with a Linksys WRT54G wireless router.

I have an ADSL connection which is connected to a SpeedTouch 510 modem/router, which in turn is connected to three PCs. What I want to do is set up my SpeedTouch so that packets to/from one PC are given priority over packets to/from the other PCs.

I have the BEFSR11 router. Everything was working fine for the longest time. Now it cannot connect to PPPoE. I have tried both - doing the keepalive and using the connect on demand option.
