Linksys DHCP issue...31 Jan 2005 16:29 GMT2
All of a sudden the DHCP functionality on my Linksys BEFW11S4 router
has quit working.  For years I have been using static IP addresses but
2 weeks ago I switched to DSL and configured the router to
automatically assign the addresses due to changing DNS server
IDSL & IDSN = Why so expensive?31 Jan 2005 01:11 GMT8
I hope this is the proper place to ask (I am in Verizon's territory).
Since I cannot get DSL from Verizon, Speakeasy, Covad, etc. due to long
distance (20K ft.)., I was told about IDSL and IDSN services. How come
these slower broadband services are way more expensive (e.g., 115 ...
dsl vs. cable for disaster recovery30 Jan 2005 19:29 GMT22
We are going to install a backup data line in an off-site location in
case of disaster at our main office.  The bandwidth can be relatively
low, as it would probably be connecting 10 people at the most to the
internet.
Changing static IP to dynamic28 Jan 2005 18:02 GMT5
Kinda sums it up, but it's not exactly that.
Verizon provided a Westell Versalink router with a fixed IP address.  I've
always had a dynamic one, even when I had Verizon DSL before.
How can I go back to having a dynamic IP?  I take it the IP I'm seeing is

IP address lease expiration27 Jan 2005 01:46 GMT6
We have Earthlink as the ISP over BellSouth phone lines, a Netopia
3341-ELK DSL modem running PPPoe, and a Linksys router.
How long is my IP address good for?  How can I determine when it will
expire?
Fight back: Join together to oppose Verison's blocking of non US sites26 Jan 2005 20:23 GMT10
I think it is time that we organize to get Verizon to rescind the policy of
blocking non-US sites. Please see my message on
0.verizon.email.discussion-general called Fight back: Join together to
oppose Verison's blocking of non US sites and take action.

Question about Speedstream 5100 modem and router combo23 Jan 2005 07:34 GMT3
When the modem is properly connected (five green lights) I can access it's setup (192.168.0.1) with the router (192.168.1.1, DHCP enabled) in the circuit.  However, when there's a problem with the connection, such as the internet light being off, I cannot get into the modem ...

ISP hassle and data stream encryption?18 Jan 2005 23:18 GMT1

after having DSL for a few years. During that time i've been stuck on
dialup and ISDN. When i finally got the chance to get broadband, i
jumped on it. My broadband is wireless. I have an antenna on my roof
