For a SDSL connection to a dedicated web server, is a router needed? The server has 3 NIC's, normally I would use just one of the NIC's (SDSL connection). One of the other NIC's would be used for a temporary connection to transfer and backup files on another machine.

Has any progress been made on getting WOL to work across subnets? Wouldn't it be nice (tm) if the small routers for home networking started including the feature to send magic packets? It's two lines of Perl and a MAC addr - seems doable.

I am currently using a legacy Cicso 675e for my DSL connection, connected to a floppyfw Linux firewall. I received a promotional notice from AT&T DSL, saying that their service was available. I've already hit google groups & dslreports.
