Cannot Ping Internet from VLAN Client30 Aug 2008 02:47 GMT4
I have a router connected to corporate network then a 3560 switch. I
configured a VLAN with ip address 10.1.2.1/24. I configured fa0/1 with
ip address 200.1.1.2/24 (same subnet as my router). I set my default
route for my switch to be the ip of my router address.
What's better a few big subnets or several smaller subnets?29 Aug 2008 12:33 GMT8
I am eventually switching paths to the Inet.  I have a 2nd PIX
firewall and the connection has tested well through it.  Our net is
low on ips anyway(we have to use static IP), so I am going to put in a
new 2621 router and add a subnet.  Right now we have been using

Speakeasy speed testing.  When I remove the PIX from the equation I

We are preparing new hw that will allow us to receive bgp routes –
currently we’re just broadcasting.
However, we know that our supervisor 32 engine does not have the
capability to receive the entire internet routing table.

Mixed WIC cards in same router28 Aug 2008 15:07 GMT3
In my follow up about T1 bonding (3MB in specific), can I mixed 2
different WIC cards to be use on the same router (1720 or 2600 or
1841). For example, mixing the first WIC (WIC-1DSU-T1) and the second
WIC (WIC-1DSU-T1-V2) on the same router?

RDP thru Cisco VPN client and thru 501 Failure26 Aug 2008 16:11 GMT24
From home, we use plain old home Netgear routers to connect up to the
net. We use our laptops and the Cisco VPN client to connect up to a
Cisco VPN Appliance in a data center and MS’s RDP to connect up to our
servers. This setup works perfectly. We use a PIX 501 from our office

Catalyst 4500 Redundancy25 Aug 2008 22:32 GMT6
We currently have a single Cisco Catalyst 4510 with dual supervior IV
modules and dual power supplied. It's central to our network with
workgroup switches and servers connecting to it.
My question is how internally redundant is a Cisco 4510?
ip DNS server timouts but sometimes it's working & always works form the router itself.25 Aug 2008 19:25 GMT8
Hi Group,
I have come across something I can't solve.
When using my Cisco as dns forwarder, DNS is just plain slow from my
PC, even when using openDNS in the Cisco (model 857)
ASA 5510 restarts itself several times a day25 Aug 2008 09:00 GMT6
ASA 5510 seems to work normaly but it restarts itself a dozen times a
day.
Does anyone have an idea what might cause this?
It is connected to an UPS so power failure should not be the cause.
