Two unit 3750 stack:  one cable or two?30 Jun 2005 20:26 GMT6
I am creating a two unit stack consisting of one 3750-24TS and one
3750G-24T.  Should I use one stackwise cable or two?  Creating a "ring"
of two units seems odd, but I get the impression from the documentation
(nowhere spelled out that I have been able to find, but that is
Connecting two switches - crossover required?30 Jun 2005 19:35 GMT1
I have always been of the understanding that whenever you connect two
switches / hubs a cross over cable is required. Can someone explain how
"Auto MDI/MDI-X" works and what it stands for. We use the Cisco
Catilyst 3550 and have always used crossover cables to interlink them.
Routing behind the PIX to multiple destinations30 Jun 2005 18:43 GMT4
Question,  Which would be easier, setup static routes in the PIX and
router behind the PIX or setup GRE tunnel and use eigrp to establish
routes and just insert the DO NOT NAT on the pix?

pix static  syntax change ?30 Jun 2005 18:07 GMT3
was playing round on a ASA 5510 using the ASDM which wrote:
static (dmz,outside) 40.1.1.4 40.1.1.4 netmask 255.255.255.255
This takes me by surprise, as it's not in keeping with the syntax I learned
for the PIX, and indeed when I tried to write more PIX like static's via
Using a backup interface with NAT30 Jun 2005 17:37 GMT5
I'm trying to backup a T1 connection with a DSL interface.  I already
found that the DSL is training fine, but because the DSL is provided by
a different provider, I am wondering how I can use NAT to map the same
inside IPs on the backup interface.
Simple question30 Jun 2005 16:03 GMT2
This may be a simple question, but I can't find it in my documentation!
How do I remove or delete a static route from my 837?

2950 ACL problem30 Jun 2005 16:00 GMT1
I have a DMZ.   It is a 2950T hanging off of a firewall interface.   I
have another 2950T hanging off of that with a wireless access point on
it.
What I want to do, and haven't quite figured out yet, is:

Trying to manage MTBF in the Network29 Jun 2005 22:26 GMT1
Looking for a way to capture the hardware age via snmp or show
commands. I understand that asset management would be a "good" way to
do this. Looking for identifying all the legacy gear placed in service
before managing inventory.
Increase the PPP echo-request(keepalive) retries29 Jun 2005 20:01 GMT1

brings the connection down? I am using a cisco 2610 router (IOS 12.3).
I'm able to increase the keepalive interval using the keepalive command
but not able to increase the retry count. By default its taking a value

CISCO PIX VPNs using digital certificates29 Jun 2005 19:33 GMT1
I've been researching various implementations of VPNs with digital
certs and can't find a solution for my environment.  For a VPN, I have
two PIXs, each with one Windows 2003 server behind it.  These servers
can be set up as independent CAs since there is no root here. I want to
