FW upgrade caused PIX-to-PIX tunnel (shared-key) woes31 Dec 2004 21:12 GMT13
Summary:

- I upgraded both PIX units to the 6.3(4) firmware
AGS+ IOS upgrade31 Dec 2004 20:08 GMT4
I've recently brought an old Cisco AGS+ router on-line. It's running IOS
10 right now, and I'm trying to upgrade it to something a little less
ancient. According to Cisco's web site, IOS 11.0 is the last version of IOS
to support the AGS+, so I downloaded that image (gs3-k-mz ...

Modem directly connected to the console port.30 Dec 2004 23:10 GMT4
I apologize for high number of questions I'm posting these days.
I read 837's manual and it says I should use a particular cable (not the console's one) to connect an analog modem
directly to the console port. It suggest me to contact the vendor.
Which cable it refers to? Does ...
Stateless port/ip transalation30 Dec 2004 23:09 GMT4
I need an ethernet-to-ethernet router which does stateless port/ip
translation. That is, the router should have a set of internal addresses and
a set of external addresses. The router is then given static rules of the
form:
1721/WIC-1SHSDL-V2 Bundle: WIC not recognised30 Dec 2004 21:04 GMT5
Hello...
I've just received a new Cisco 1721/WIC-1SHSDL-V2 Bundle.
Unfortunately, the WIC-1SHSDL-V2 is NOT recognised. I already tried
updating to the most current IOS release 12.3.12. I tried IP, IP/ADSL
Is an access-group command necessary for ACLs?30 Dec 2004 17:27 GMT4
I hoping someone could help.  Is an access-group command necessary for
ACLs to work?  Hypothetically, if you have a bunch of ACLs but not
bound to an interface then the ACLs will just work as written to all
traffic versus if you specified an interface with the access-group
IOS newbie: 1 plus 8 external IPs30 Dec 2004 16:48 GMT1
From my ISP I have a working connection via cable modem, which provides
a fixed, external IP e.g.
    212.47.11.123, gateway 212.47.11.1
Now I got an additional block of 8 external IPs e.g.
Deny tcp reverse path check from...30 Dec 2004 15:20 GMT1
our PIX has two interfaces on the internet side. The first has 217.x.y.z while the second one has 151.x.y.z.
In log messages I receive a lot of warnings as I reported in th subject. One of these must accept VPN connections
I know these messages are generated by spoofing actions. Is ...
Translation exemption rules.30 Dec 2004 15:00 GMT1
I'm trying to use both PDM and CLI on our PIX and to understand the corrispondence between PDM's output and "wr term"'s
output.
Does anyone know how "translation exemption rules" are visualized by CLI or how to send an "translation exemption rule"
via the CLI?
priority-list functionality on a tunnel interface30 Dec 2004 14:07 GMT2
I'd like to implement a simple priority-based queueing scheme on a GRE
tunnel (e.g. making all telnet traffic higher priority than any other
traffic), but unfortunately GRE tunnels don't allow the use of priority-list/
priority-group.  So: what's the simplest alternative to achieve ...
Intra-VLAN filtering to block telnet and ftp30 Dec 2004 11:47 GMT1
I have several backup client in separate VLAN. All connected via CISCO
switch and router.
I intended to create a backup VLAN for all clients.
I have security concern as these VLANs should not talk to each other
IPSec out through PIX?30 Dec 2004 09:52 GMT1
Does anything need to be done to allow an IPSec tunnel from a PC inside the
pix run PAT. I have a PC trying to open a  tunnel to a linksys WRV54G at
another location. Linksys have a small client that is loaded on a PC and I'm
having trouble connecting to it from inside a PIX.
Retrieving RTR status by SNMP polling30 Dec 2004 08:06 GMT2
I have a router that has a VPN connection to remote site, I have to
monitor the state of this connection constanly. The only possible way
for me to monitor this router is by SNMP polling. The routers IOS
version is  12.2
