Now that you folks have helped me decide to use indoor/outdoor cable,
I have another set of questions about terminations.  The GBICs that
I'm going to connect have duplex LC connectors.  
Graybar can have the cable assembly made up with the connectors

I have experience installing Cat5 and have used flexible orange duplex
fiber to connect the GBICs of two switches so I volunteered to help
run fiber between two adjacent buildings for my church.  The fiber
will run along the inside of an awning so it will be protected from

One of the groups that I support is moving into a recently renovated
building. I asked for some electrical/dcom plans to see how the
conduit was run and was told that "they didn't use them, we put one

My friend is working on a project where he will be changing over a bunch of
offices from a BT WAN to NTL.
the final part of the change over uses a patch cable to plug NTL's network

Alright I've read quite a few posts on these issues but I'm still a
bit unsure of some key details. I'm currently building a house and I
have ran all the cat5e for phone and data into a patch panel. Now I'm
very fimilar with the data side of things but not the phone. So I have

A fairly basic question - which pins are used to carry the Ethernet
signal through the cat5 between my router and the RJ45 socket in the
wall? I've used the 568B standard throughout the house. I'm asking
because inevitably there is one place where I haven't got enough
