Data (Cat6) and telephone (Cat5e) lines on the same patch panel28 Apr 2007 16:39 GMT3
I've read various posts that seem to touch on my questions, but not knowing
all the lingo I'll ask anyway....
I have 18 lines of Cat6 (will use for data) and 18 lines of Cat5e (will use
for phone) all connected to a Belkin 48-port unshielded patch panel in my
S-Video to Twisted Pair keystone adapters22 Apr 2007 21:27 GMT4
I just finished a conference room, wiring from a conference table to a
projector on the ceiling and to a plasma on the wall. They did not
request S-Video to be run to either location (from the conference
table, they do have it to a DVD player under the plasma).
OM3 patching on OM1 cable?22 Apr 2007 19:43 GMT1
Can anyone tell me if there is practical adverse effects using OM3
fibre patch leads to connect equipment to OM1 cabling?

RG-6 QS, top brands?19 Apr 2007 14:19 GMT39
I am just trying to get an updated list of the top brands of RG-6 quad

Belden, Carol, and Commscope, but I just wanted to get an updated
list.  I have seen Carol and Zenith brands at local stores recently,

of AC line inside metal conduit.  What are the clearances for running
cat 3 or 5 near the ballasts or lights, and is there a problem with
induced current in running com lines right next to conduit over that
tool to ease RJ45 termination19 Apr 2007 03:48 GMT6
I've just made my first few Cat 5e Ethernet cables and I found the
most time consuming/hardest part to be keeping all 8 wires in the
right order while inserting them into the RJ45 plug to be crimped.
Is there a tool to make this easier?  What I was wishing for was
Cat53 cable with Phone line plug built-in?18 Apr 2007 20:42 GMT1
In my house we have cat5e ran to every room where there is a wall
plate, where the 4 pairs are split into two sets - one for phone and
one for data.  Downstairs in the basement we have a patch panel, and
then a small phone hub thing, and a switch.
Terminated Cat5e ended up "cat5"05 Apr 2007 21:06 GMT4
I was changing some things in a server room this week:
Using cat5e cable and these ends http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=421040
I rewired a few of the connections between a switch and some server
machines.
