Hi - I have a small four port switch/ADSL router in one room, and a PC in another. I want to be able to connect the two together, by putting network sockets in both rooms and then just using patch cables to plug them in, but I'm not sure what the wiring between the two wall sockets

I'm trying to terminate a 62.5/125 um fiber using the 3M Crimplok Termination Kit and SC multimode connectors (6900). I'm doing this for the first time and for some reason are unable to push the fiber through the connector. It simple won't get through, not even with brute force

Only in America.... just left a meeting with a large university that we are loosely associated with. We have been on their network (full internet access) and we are now putting in our own routers, swithes, and our own ISP but we are still in their buildings

The year is 2005, and the new National Electrical Code is officially out, and the 2002 edition moved up the ladder into field use. So, it is now really-really required to remove those abandoned cables (or tag them "for future use"). Has anyone been successful in selling this idea to ...

They've gotta go! A pair of Greenlee 683 screw-type spool jacks. Extend from 22" to 54", twin rollers bearings. Very good condition.. Shut down my business a little over a year ago to fly full time and these things have been collecting dust ever since.

I need to link two LANs on a farm that are about 1500-2000 feet apart. They don't have line-of-sight, due to trees. I can trench a cable, but I'd prefer not to have to use conduit. Do any companies make a direct-bury fiber solution that would work over this distance?

Is there any physical way I can tell the difference between a 10 BaseT cable and a CAT5 cable? Maybe by the cable colors?? Thanks, Arthur
