Hi, I am currently attempting to upgrade from 100BaseT, with CAT5 at home and adding a new link with CAT7 cable, that I want to use for Gigabit Ethernet. I Bought two Telegaertner double AMJ45 sockets. For a first test I just cabled the two of them together straight through.

Anyone structured cabling contractors here use estimation software? If so, which ones? I have demoed RapidBOM and Accubid's products. I'm leaning towards Accubid because of the Labor calculations they have in place - very slick.

Is it acceptable to use 1 pair in a Cat-5 cable for POTS when 2 pair are being used for 10base-T? Wondering about cross-talk, etc., introducing noise between these two. Thanks,
