| LC Dual mode fiber cables, I need some help/info | 29 Sep 2004 21:52 GMT | 3 |
I am needing to connect two devices using LC dual mode cables. I am not familiar with LC connectors/technology. I have pulled and terminated many, many ST MM cables using anaerobic glue on connectors at my work but have never even seen an LC cable end.

I'm going to test new network cabling (CAT 6) in my house. I got a link tester without a manual and don't know how to use ist. There is no manufacturer or brand noticed whom I could contact, except of the stamp "FA-373 E & F". I put an image of the box to my homepage, see

| Sample Request For Bid (RFB) for data/telecom cable plant | 16 Sep 2004 14:41 GMT | 2 |
Our company is building a new building and I have the rather unique (for me) opportunity to build a new network from the ground up. I am a layer 2/3 person, so can do the switching design for both data and IP phones, but I get a little shakey on the cable plant specifications

| F-CONN BNC cable insertion? | 14 Sep 2004 13:30 GMT | 1 |
I picked up some F-Conn RG6Q BNC ends for a project. I'm having the hardest time actually pushing the stripped cable end into one and having the center pin extend fully before the crimp is done. I've wasted 5-6 of these now.

Can anyone tell me if the faceplace / RJ 45 socket units for Cat 3 cabling would be suitable for reuse in a Cat 5 installation? (I realise that the cable is different, but I am wondering if the wall sockets are).

| Convert old Coax RG59/6 to Cat 5 while wiring house -- possible? | 06 Sep 2004 07:06 GMT | 9 |
This probably isn't possible, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm rewiring my home for cable TV and broadband for each room, and I was wondering if there was anyway to convert standard CATV to run over Cat 5/6 cable as opposed to RG59/6. I'm not up on how the signals go over
