Shuttle SB81P Questions30 Nov 2004 13:03 GMT5
I'm going to build a new PC for my home and had a few questions about
the SB81P.  The system will be used for internet access, email,
digital photo (not professionally), light gaming, music, etc.  Built a
system earlier this year for my girlfriend using the FT61 mainboard.

It's time to upgrade my beloved yet loud and hot XPC SK41G. I've
scanned the posts for a while without a satisfying answer.
The latest post I could find is over a year old:

USB headers28 Nov 2004 04:24 GMT5
I see from my motherboard manual that the board (FN45) has 2 extended
USB headers...JP11 and JP14. How do I bring these to the rear panel?
Surely I don't have to lose the only PCI slot.
thanks,
Missing SG41G Copper Shim27 Nov 2004 20:42 GMT4
I unpacked a new Shuttle barebones SK41G earlier and cannot find the copper
shim for the CPU anywhere.  Is there a specific place in the packing where
it should have been?  Is it a part that was discontinued but still appears
in the instructions?  I'll be contacting Fry's about this ...
Got a question about SN95G5 and 6600 GT AGP27 Nov 2004 10:52 GMT2
I'm thinking about getting a shuttle  SN95G5.  Anandtech.com reccomends that
barebones system with a Nvidia 6600 GT AGP and Athlon 64 3500+.  My question
is whether it can supply adequate power.  It comes with a 240W power supply,
but the 6600 GT requires a 300W.  Any insights?  ...
RAID 0 and RAID 1 (so NOT RAID 0+1) possible on SB81P26 Nov 2004 07:37 GMT7
I read/heard somewhere that it would be possible to have a RAID 0
portion and a RAID 1 portion on the same disk-pair on a SB81P. Is this true?
If so, does it actually work?   ;-)

No Sound-in Available?!24 Nov 2004 08:50 GMT5
Just to check if there is any solution to this situation.

There is no free PCI slot, and the built in sound card does not have an
AUDIO-LINE IN as far as I can tell.

SB81P Temperature Monitoring22 Nov 2004 22:32 GMT2
I recently built (assembled) a SB81P system.  I'm using 'hmonitor' to
monitor the termeratures, fan speeds, and power supply voltages.  I
would like to compare my readings with others.  Anyone have a similar
system and want to compare notes?
Shuttle SB61G2 ACPI in Windows XP22 Nov 2004 05:05 GMT3
I just got a Shuttle SB61G2 system and put Windows XP on it.  I've installed
all the chipset drivers off the cd, however XP doesn't have all the basic
ACPI functions such as system stand-by and hibernate.  Standby is greyed out
as an option when shutting down and theres no ...
All-In-Wonder Graphics card problem20 Nov 2004 01:39 GMT3
I have a Shuttle with the FB61 mainboard.
I just bought a ATI all-in-wonder 9800 graphics card from
Overclockers.co.uk (their own brand one @ £98.00 excl. VAT)
I haven't got a lot of experience with home building, but I thought that
