I have a K8N Neo2 Platinum with Athlon 3500+ and 1gb OZC Gold memory. I want to know (relatively speaking) if the following upgrades make sense: Keep the mobo and change the cpu to an FX-55 and change the ram to 2gb

Just built a computer using the Neo2-Digital board (nice board!) Fresh format and install in Windows XP w/SP2. Then installed MSI drivers and utilities. Everything fine. Then applied about 100 Windows security updates since SP2.

I have a P35 Neo2 and various utilities show there are two temp sensors on board. Does anyone know where these are on the board, and what they are reporting?

Before trying to quiet an older pc I tried adding some memory. It had a pair of 256Mb chips in slots 1 and 2 and I added a 1Gb chip to slot three. Turn it on and nothing. Removed the 1Gb chip and nothing. Power supply fires up and fans run but motherboard diagnostic leds are green

This worked fine a couple of weeks ago but now I cannot read or write CDs on this system. I tried 3 different optical drives and WinXP and Vista in a dual boot system but nothing. I moved the drive from master to slave but that didn't help. I flashed to the latest bios and set

I plan to upgrade my single core Athlon 3200+ CPU to a double core X2 3600+ on my K8N Neo4. I'd like to keep the same WinXP install. Should I reset the bios? Will WinXP recognize the new processor on startup or will I have to do a repair install?
