pci sound card and onboard sound25 Nov 2006 19:25 GMT1
Is it possible to run a PCI soundcard (the creative x-fi music) and the
onboard sound (only the mic-in)? I have 7.1 speakers, and so unless I
dish out another 40 quid for the break out box thingy, I will have no
line in's.

I have an MSI K8N Diamond (MS-7100) motherboard that was initially fitted
with 2x512MB DIMMS, installed in DIMM sockets 1 and 2 (green and purple).

40 wire vs 80 wire IDE cable for optical drives question09 Nov 2006 21:54 GMT3
My optical drives are slow to respond, are flaky, and sometimes do not auto
start.  I've been reading up on the subject and one person mentioned that
changing the cable from the 40 wire type to the 80 wire type will improve
the performance. Especially on mobo's that use the ICH7R ...

P4-478 2GHz intel 845 chipset computer with multi-media capability.
Problem with WD SATA06 Nov 2006 17:31 GMT1
