Problems booting from new SATA drive31 Mar 2006 21:33 GMT1
I have a brand new Western Digital 120GB SATA drive.  I have it
installed to a MSI 865PE Neo2 mobo, and I'm trying to install WinXP
Pro.  (On this mobo I have a standard IDE drive booting and running XP
quite happily, but I disable this drive in the BIOS for the

I have a KT4V running an AMD 2600+...I have a Studio Moviebox deluxe into
the USB port...the video out of the moviebox flashes in time with my hard
drive activity, so I installed an Adaptec 3100LP PCI USB2 adapter...when I

I'm trying to figure out how to hookup my front headphone/mike jacks.
The cables from the front panel are marked as follows. HPOUT R,  HPOUT
-R,  HPOUT L,  HPOUT -L,  GROUND,  MIC IN,  MIC POWER,  MIC GRD. The
pins on the mobo are marked  AUD_GND,  AUD-MIC,  AUD_VCC,

on my mainboard, I have five PCI ports and one AGP port.
On the new mainboards There are only three PCI port.
Can you explain me ?

am looking for a utility that will do a diagnostic on my SATA RAID array. I
have a feeling that one of my Maxtors is failing and this is a RAID0 setup.
I have googled for it and haven't found anything yet, am just wondering if

My have to replace my motherboard -  a K8N Neo Platinum. Have seen the
K8N Neo-FSR, from its spec I assume it is the same, apart from only 2
rather than 3 Ram slots?

detection stage. Having performed multiple upgrades on this machine just
prior to the problems, identifying the cause of the issues ...

is it possible for a usb device to take down a motherboard?
the last thing i did to a k8n neo pro motherboard that had been working
flawlessly for 18 months was to test out an old usb scanner that had
been sitting around.

My K7N2 Delta-LSR is currently running nVidia Raid IDE ROM Bios 4.52.
Is the firmware for this controller separate to the motherboard bios?
If so, where can I get the latest version?
I've searched extensively throughout the MSI and nVidia websites but to
