I got an MSI-6390 mobo, (not mine, I formatted for a friend), and after

I moved a 40 gig Western Digital 7200 rpm hd from my MSI K7N2 machine to a
MSI 6738 machine. Both have ATA 133 capability and Athlon 2400XP processors.

What's the fastest processor you're running on your KT3 Ultra2.  MSI say
that XP 3000 works - is this true.  I assume you need pc2700 memory.

  I'm having a problem with my new USB 2.0 scanner. Basically, when
it's plugged in, the PC won't get past the boot display (i.e. the MSI
logo), and when it isn't, the PC boots fine. The scanner is detected
and operates correctly if it's plugged in *after* the initial boot

What would be a reasonable temperature for an athlon xp2400? Mine is
running in between 50 and 57 degrees. Is this ok? and is pc alert 4
accurate?

I removed my northbridge fan in order to stop the horrendous buzzing.
Before I could install the new heat sink, I tried booting and I get
nothing except:
With original ATI video all in wonder video card installed recieved

I purchased a AMD  Athlon XP 3000 CPU from New Egg for what I thought
was a great price at 267 dollars for the 2.1 Ghz version of this CPU.
I didn't notice that the CPU isn't the 3000+ but rather just 3000
without the plus sign. The fastest I can set this CPU to run is 1670

All brand new components:
- K7N2 Delta ILSR
- AMD 2500+ Barton
- WD 120GB special edition HD (on IDE1)
