Everything worked fine until a few days ago. After a Skype update(?) or a
Windows XP pro update(?) the microphone + headphone are recognized when inserted
in the front panel, the headphone works but the microphone configuration dialogs

I did this backup when I first installed Vista with all of the drivers &
updates installed. I booted from the mb disk, backed up,  and all went
fine...or so it appeared. Today I decided to test it by hitting "F9" while

I ordered Kingston HyperX 1GB KHX16000D3K3/3GX (DDR3 2000) x3 according to
the mfg's QVL along with my UD4P motherboard. My problem is that the
motherboard (with F8 BIOS) sets the memory frequency to 1066 by
default...rather than 2000. My system is very stable here...no BSOD. But ...

I'm trying to mix a 1gb stick, with a 512mb stick.   But I only get a total
of 1gb, instead of 1.5gb, as expected.
Can't find anything about "all sticks must be the same size" on the Gigabyte

My 500w PSU has blown on another PC i have and was wondering what the
chances are of other hardware being damaged as a result.
My spare PSU has a 24pin mobo connector whereas the blown one has a 20pin so
i will need to get one from my local store if they have one and try it.
