A friend use a Gigabyte GA-6VX7-4X motherboard on a server. Of course, this server run 24h/24h. I known a lot of Pentium III motherboard had condensator problem and stop working after 4 or 5 year.

Anyone tried this BIOS yet? I find that once it's flashed, the Gigabyte SATA2 JMicron controller disappears, along with any disks attached to it. Did they forget to include the controller BIOS?

Short summary: Installing Gigabyte's XPress 2 software can render the hard drive unusable. The BIOS can no longer be set to boot from a device other than the hard drive (if is installed). I confirmed this from Gigabyte

GA-7VA rev 1.0, latest BIOS (F12) Replaced hard drive with Maxtor 60GB (old drive was Samsung 60GB). POST will not recognize the drive. If I boot with Maxtor Powermax CD, it finds the drive and tests OK.

I have just built a new system with a GA-965P-S3 motherboard. The system is working fine except for one problem. Every time I boot up, it goes through the normal system messages and then stops. It displays, "Please Install Xpress Recovery2 from Gigabyte CD Title.

Nothing to do with bios I'd say....! I use a Gigabyte 7VA XP mobo... I had the same problem after lopping a new hard drive in and doing an install..... I had yellow triangle on the USB controller... simply saying the drivers were'nt installed.
