I'm having trouble installing WindowsXP PRO
on this board:
GA-K8VM800M Rev 1
BIOS updated to F8
Athlon XP 3000+ Barton 333 on a GA-7N400 Pro2 (rev2) = "Unknown CPU @ 2166"?31 Aug 2005 00:00 GMT9
According to my BIOS, my CPU is "unknown"...
EVEREST v2.20.405 gives me the following Quick Report on it:
 CPU Type               Unknown, 2166 MHz (13 x 167)
 CPU Alias              Barton

Have received an old system as a donation for charity members.
The motherboard is:   Gigabyte GA-6VX7-4X
Having installed WinXP I thought everything was OK but turning off is
a problem.

I decide to build for fun. I bought cute MicroATX case and install
8S661FXMP-RZ. It was everything so smooth. No problem. One of most easy
setup and best  ever in my time. So I want to buy 2 more 8S661FXMP-RZ for

Just upgraded an old HP Pavilion with a GA8IPE1000Pro-G.. After lots of
hassle (couldn't get XP to boot with the new board even after sysprep,
repair installs etc.) I did a fresh install and it works.

Windows XP decided to eat it's registry on friday so I had to do a
complete ground up reinstall of my machine over the weekend.
I downloaded all the latest drivers from the gigabyte website for my
rev1 8KNXP, and everything is now fine, except one little annoying

I've just built this AMD rig one week ago, got XP Pro installed, and all the
drivers (I think) in and working.  device manager says all hardware is ok.
PowerDVD5 was giving me some problems running at first.  It runs fine now,
problem isn't PDVD.  I get the problem with anything ...

I am trying to recycle an older computer for a friend . Machine has
GA-7ZX mobo with onboaed sound. I  have been unable to get the sound
to work. I tried the 4-in-1 from Gigabyte still no joy. Have
downloaded several drivers suggested by others. Checked bios setings,

I updated my bios for this motherboard as specified and now the device
manager detected a new multimedia audio device. My sound still seems to be
working ok. I downloaded the drivers from the gigabyte site for the audio
and what ever the mobo detected apparently isn't packaged ...

I recently purchased a GA-8IPE1000-G motherboard and after installing
it in my computer and getting everything hooked up, I am getting some
strange results.
Neither the power or reset switches do anything, I have to use the
